Series Highlight: The Expedition Handlebar System
At the heart of the update is the all-new Handlebar System - at it’s core sits the Expedition Handlebar Pack that features a clamp-free design that guarantees stability without heavy hardware, freeing up handlebar space while enabling flexible capacity options.
Central to the system are the BarSpace Modules, these position the pack away from the bars to ensure your hands natural riding position’s are never compromised. The modules connect directly to the Handlebar pack via the integrated BarSpace Plate maintaining pack form and stability. Dedicated 3-prong mounting points on the BarSpace modules allow for the systems GPS mount and Accessory Arm to be mounted off the bars for a clean, organised cockpit setup.
Stability is achieved through the combination of Stability Cord and Tension Strap, which work together to eliminate movement under load. By removing the need for clamp-based hardware, the system delivers the same secure performance with significantly reduced weight and mechanical complexity.
This approach reflects Apidura’s original design philosophy: creating universal, ultralight bikepacking gear in a market once dominated by cumbersome hardware and pannier systems. Continuing this approach, the Expedition Handlebar System does not use clamp-based hardware, resulting in a pack that is 45% lighter than the competition:

The Expedition Handlebar Pack balances stability, modularity, and an ultralight bikepacking ethos, delivering significant benefits in weight, simplicity, and accessibility.
The modularity of the Handlebar System is further extended through the Expedition Front Cargo Mesh and Expedition Front Accessory Pack. These optional components expand carry capacity , integrating seamlessly with the Expedition Handlebar Pack and quick removal to convert into wearable, on-body storage. This allows riders to keep essential items close at hand when off the bike.
A Decade in the Making
In 2016, Apidura launched the world’s first welded, waterproof bikepacking bags - originally named the “Dry” Series and later known as the Expedition Series. It set a new standard for performance bikepacking products.
The 2026 relaunch marks the first major design overhaul since its inception.
In the ten years since, bikepacking has evolved dramatically. Multi-surface riding, and all-road exploration are now the norm. The updated Expedition Series reflects these shifts - refining stability, integration and fit while preserving the simplicity that made the original a benchmark.
Stable To Its Core
Stability is built into every contact point between rider, pack and bike.
Integrated, lightweight attachment systems eradicate movement without relying on heavy hardware, with the new Expedition Handlebar System exemplifying this design approach.
Refined Frame Pack shapes and expanded sizing improve compatibility with modern frame geometries, delivering distraction-free performance across rough gravel, smooth tarmac and everything in between.
The redesigned Saddle Packs enhance stability through a new Stability Channel that conforms to the seatpost, supported by silicone grip strips to increase hold. A newly developed Hypalon Cradle compresses contents toward the base of the pack, working in conjunction with the Stability Channel to create a stable ride.
