Fantasy Gravel x The Hills

The team was on the ground at The Hills to support what we love most: gravel racing and its athletes.

A full weekend of pre-race interviews, live coverage, and post-race content — telling the race from the inside. After just two editions, The Hills is already consolidating its place as one of the key opening races of the season.

On the race side, both fields delivered.

In the women’s race, Canyon ATR made the difference at the front, with Larissa taking control in the final part of the race to secure the win. Erica followed in second, with Elena completing the podium.

In the men’s race, the pace was high from the start, but it was Bradyn Lange who launched the decisive move, taking the victory ahead of Petr Vakoc and Celestin.

Strong engagement across platforms: +500K views on Instagram and 50K on the app, with more than 600 users playing.

Data-driven racing performance: meet Fulcrum’s Gravel Race platform.

Gravel is evolving: speeds are increasing, races are becoming more and more challenging and requirements have changed. This was the driving force behind the creation of Sharq GR and Soniq GR, two new wheels designed specifically for today’s Gravel Races, where riders compete over demanding terrain using wider tyres.

Sharq GR and Soniq GR do not replace the current Sharq and Soniq: they are a natural variant, an extension focused on a precise discipline. In line with Fulcrum’s philosophy, there are no compromises or forced adaptations: every product is designed to express maximum performance and reliability in its specific use.

Connecting the dots

The GR project has grown out of an in-depth analysis of race data
and direct experiences from high-level gravel races.

The objective was clear: to create a wheel able to support high speeds over rough terrain, whilst maintaining control, precision and a concrete aerodynamic advantage.

The heart of the project is the new 2-Wave Rim with an inner rim width of 30 mm, and mini-hook, designed to work in perfect synergy with wide tyres, optimising their shape, contact patch and stability. The variable wave profile, with a height of 47/52 mm, improves air flow management and reduces the yaw moment and frontal drag.

The wheel-tyre system has been developed to work in perfect synergy with 47-50 mm wide tyres, which have not only become standard in today’s fastest gravel races but are also the ideal solution for every day rides, where control, efficiency and comfort make the difference. Naturally, wider tyres can also be used, in compliance with the applicable ISO standard.

Specific 45 mm tyres, that in certain contexts have revealed themselves to be technically valid and to perform very well, are also compatible. This combination, which is not currently covered by the ISO standard, has been validated by Fulcrum for certain tyres, following rigorous compatibility tests performed in-house and by tyre manufacturers.

The combination between the 30 mm inner rim and the new-generation of wider gravel tyres, opens new pressure management possibilities. The larger air volume of the system allows for a wider adjustment range, to optimize the setup and find the best balance between speed, control and stability in relation to terrain, conditions and riding style.

It is fundamental, however, not to exceed the maximum pressure indicated on the rim (3.5 bar).

Two models, a single vision

Sharq GR and Soniq GR share the same design philosophy and the same performance objective, but provide different technical solutions to meet different requirements.

The Sharq GR represents the maximum expression of Fulcrum’s performance for gravel races: FF100 carbon fibre, hubs with Cup & Cone bearings, flat profile A3RO spokes and 2:1 lacing pattern, for maximum reaction, precision and aerodynamic advantage. Total weight of the system: 1.550 g.

The Soniq GR uses FF80 fibre, which is less competition-orientated compared to FF100, but that is in any case able to provide excellent overall performance. The wheel is completed with sealed cartridge bearings hubs, with adjustable preload, and round spokes, for a total weight of 1.695 g.

Both models use the 2-Way Fit™ technology with non-drilled rim bed, ready for tubeless installation without tubeless tape, for a perfectly sealed, more solid structure, which ensures long-term reliability.

Series Highlight: The Expedition Handlebar System

At the heart of the update is the all-new Handlebar System - at it’s core sits the Expedition Handlebar Pack that features a clamp-free design that guarantees stability without heavy hardware, freeing up handlebar space while enabling flexible capacity options.

Central to the system are the BarSpace Modules, these position the pack away from the bars to ensure your hands natural riding position’s are never compromised. The modules connect directly to the Handlebar pack via the integrated BarSpace Plate maintaining pack form and stability. Last weekend we welcomed Gobik to Kuala Lumpur alongside BikeArtisans and the local cycling community.

We started with a city ride through KL, followed by coffee and pizza — the right way to build culture around a brand. After the ride, we hosted the official presentation, where riders had the chance to discover the new collection launching in March and reserve their pieces ahead of time.

Gobik presents the new kit for its flagship team under the banner The Art of Celebration, a collaboration with African artist Karabo Poppy that goes beyond the launch of a new kit to sit at the intersection of art, identity and competition. A project that offers a cultural reading of sport, deliberately moving away from the conventional codes of sports communication.

The collaboration is born as a genuine dialogue between two ways of understanding celebration: one that emerges from art and another that arises from competitive effort. This is not an aesthetic exercise, but a shared narrative that connects emotion, belonging and collective expression.

Karabo Poppy is a South African illustrator, graphic designer and urban artist based in Johannesburg, widely recognised for a contemporary visual language deeply rooted in African identity. Her work combines colour, geometry and storytelling to celebrate community, pride and collective memory, and has been applied both in urban spaces and in cultural projects and international brand collaborations with names such as Nike, Google, Coca-Cola and Netflix. Her artistic practice consistently moves between the symbolic and the collective, using design as a tool for cultural expression.

The creative starting point is Karabo Poppy’s work and her research into African Portrait Cloths: traditional African textiles that act as vehicles of identity, pride and shared memory. Far from being mere decorative patterns, these fabrics tell personal and collective stories and are used to mark moments of unity, celebration and community. This symbolic weight is transferred to the design of the jersey for the new Gobik Factory Team kit for the 2026 season.

In parallel, competitive cycling shares a very similar impulse. Competing is not simply about crossing a finish line; it is about being part of a team, sharing codes, embracing collective effort and celebrating everything that comes after the tension. The collaboration between Gobik and Karabo sits precisely at this point of convergence: when art and competition speak the same language without the need for explanation.

Under the claim The Art of Celebration, the campaign is built around a clear central idea: celebration is not the end of effort, but an essential part of competing. Art celebrates through colour, line and rhythm; cycling does so through self-improvement, emotion and shared experience. The new kit is conceived as a visual translation of this idea.

At its core is the unisex CX Pro 4.0 jersey, conceived as the canvas on which Karabo develops her artistic proposal, translating the language of African Portrait Cloths into the world of competition. THE FORMULA FOR PERFORMANCE

The new rim profile reduces turbulence and improves stability in crosswind conditions, while carbon spokes increase the stiffness-to-weight ratio and reduce rotating mass, bringing the wheelset down to 1305 g (52 mm rim profile). Two rim profile options will be available: 52 mm and 62 mm, allowing riders to choose between all-round efficiency and maximum aerodynamic performance for high-speed racing.
